The Swissquote Mastercards® of the Bright and Elite packages are provided both in physical and digital versions, each offering their own advantages. 

The Swissquote Virtual Debit Mastercard® of the Light package is exclusively available in a digital format. It is included in a banking package that covers your daily needs and offers a simplified cashback programme compared to the Bright and Elite packages.

Clients residing in Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Spain, Malta, Monaco, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Greece and Belgium can benefit from a physical debit card only with the Bright package. For Swiss residents, a physical card is available with both the Bright and Elite packages.

Yes, you can change your package at any time. Once you have ordered your new card, your current card will remain active for 30 days before being automatically deactivated.

The Swissquote Virtual Debit Mastercard, included in the Light package, is completely free.

The Swissquote Debit Mastercard® included in the Bright package is offered at CHF 6.90 per month, with the first six months free. The Swissquote Elite Debit Mastercard® costs CHF 39 per month. In the event that the card included in the Elite package is cancelled within the first six months, a cancellation fee equal to two months’ subscription fees will be applied.

All currencies are exempt from transaction fees, whatever your package.

This exemption applies exclusively to the Swissquote Elite Debit Mastercard® and covers the following currencies: CHF, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, SEK, HKD, NOK, DKK, AED et SGD, up to CHF 5’000 per month. Above this threshold, a conversion fee of 0.25% per transaction applies. At weekends and on public holidays, a flat rate of 1% applies to these currencies.

For all other currencies, a surcharge of 1.5% is added to the Mastercard rate from the first transaction.

To qualify for the Swissquote Elite Debit Mastercard®, you must:

• Have a Swissquote global account
• Live in Switzerland
• Maintain a minimum of CHF 100'000 in total assets or the equivalent thereof in another currency when you subscribe

The physical card included in your Bright or Elite package will be sent to you by post, usually within three to four days. You need to activate your physical card before using it for the first time. The virtual versions of your Bright and Elite cards are available immediately.

For the Light package, the Swissquote Virtual Debit Mastercard® is activated immediately after ordering.

Yes, but as a client you enjoy a simplified account opening process thanks to our Smart Signup system (via the eBanking platform): open a Swissquote global account quickly and easily, then apply for your debit card in the Swissquote app.

You can easily view and change your PIN from your mobile or desktop Swissquote app. On your mobile, simply go to the ‘Cards’ tab, click on ‘Settings’, then ‘Manage PIN’. On your desktop, click on ’Bank’, then ‘Manage my card’ and finally ‘Manage PIN’.

First, block it immediately from the Swissquote app and request a replacement card. If you are unable to access the mobile app, you can also block your card from this page. You also have the option to contact our Customer Care Center on +41 44 825 88 84 (Bright and Light) or on +41 44 825 88 81 (Elite), from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm (CET), Monday to Friday.

Simply choose cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for your debit card in the Swissquote app. When you pay with your card, we will only sell the tokens needed to pay for your purchases. This feature is available whichever package you choose.

This offer is exclusively available with the Swissquote Elite Debit Mastercard®. For every purchase, you convert 0.5% of the amount into gold (XAU), up to a maximum of CHF 25 in gold per month.

Custody fees on the gold accrued are deducted at the beginning of each month for the previous month. If you do not wish to pay them, you can convert your gold into a foreign currency.
