Several settings exist to safeguard your account:

• Cap the amount of outgoing transfers
• Restrict the destination countries authorised for transfers

These settings strengthen payment controls and reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions.

You can transfer cash to your Swissquote account by bank transfer or by credit/debit card (Mastercard or VISA).

Go to 'Banking' > 'Payments & Transfers'> 'Add Money' on your Desktop platform to find your bank transfer details or the credit/debit card transfer link.

Please indicate your first and last name as the final beneficiary. Do not indicate Swissquote as the beneficiary, as this will result in the payment being returned.

If your bank requires correspondent bank details for foreign currency payments, please refer to page number 2 of this document.

Your first deposit plays an important role in our identity verification process when opening your account. For this reason, your initial deposit must meet the following requirements:

• The transfer must come from a licensed bank.
• The sending account must be in your name.
• The deposit must meet or exceed the minimum threshold:
  • CHF 500 (or equivalent) if you reside in Switzerland
  • EUR 500 (or equivalent) if based in the euro area: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal or Spain
  • CHF 500 (or equivalent) for all other countries.

Once we've processed and approved your initial deposit, these specific limitations will no longer apply to future deposits.

To transfer money out of your Swissquote account, follow these steps:

Desktop platform:

• Log in to your Swissquote account
• Go to 'Banking' > 'Payments & Transfers' and then choose your payment type to insert your payment details

Mobile App:

• Open the Swissquote app
• Go to 'Banking' and then 'Payments' to insert your payment details

You can scan and pay your QR bills using either the Swissquote mobile app or the web platform.

Swissquote Mobile App: Please go to 'Banking' > 'Payments' to 'Scan & Pay'.

Web platform: Please go to 'Banking' > 'Payments' > 'QR bill' to upload your document with a QR code.

You can download a payment slip with a QR code for your Swissquote account by navigating to 'Home' > 'Add Money'.

Incoming payments to a Swissquote account

Payments to a Swissquote account are booked automatically during office hours (Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:30 CET).

In most cases, incoming payments are rejected when 'Swissquote' is indicated as the final beneficiary. Please ensure that the account holder’s name is always stated as the final beneficiary on all incoming payments.

Outgoing payments

Outgoing payments from your Swissquote account are executed on the date specified as the 'execution date', provided there are sufficient funds in the account. Payments may be processed at any time during the day and not necessarily in the morning.

If an outgoing payment was rejected, please go to the 'Payments' section of your account, then select the relevant payment to review the details. If the reason for the rejection is still unclear, please contact us via our contact form at www.swissquote.com/message or by phone at +41 44 825 88 88.

Transfers to the account 

To transfer securities to your Swissquote account, send an instruction letter (Transfer order form) to your current bank, requesting a transfer to your Swissquote IBAN.

Securities transfers to your Swissquote account are free of charge. 

Please note that we do not provide custodian information to clients.

• Securities transfers to another financial institution are charged at EUR/USD/CHF 50 per line. For example, 10 UBS and 30 MSFT are charged CHF 50 and USD 50.
• Securities transfers to another Swissquote account are free. Written instruction as indicated above is still required.

Updating the Unit Cost

For us to update the unit cost of your transferred securities, please send us a copy of an official bank statement showing the original purchase price.

You can upload documents via the contact form or through 'My Account' (profile icon in the top-right menu) > 'Messages' > 'New message'.

Please note that securities transfers can take several weeks depending on the counterparty.

The time frame required to successfully complete a securities transfer depends on many different factors and cannot be determined in advance. On average, a smooth transfer of securities requires at least one to four weeks, but this period is not guaranteed.

These are some examples of the most important factors influencing the delay of a securities transfer:

• Stock exchange / market
• Involved custodians and banks
• Tradability of the financial product
• Legal regulations and foreign restrictions
• Extraordinary or unusual influencing factors
