You can easily open your account online via our app or from our website. 

You can complete the account opening process in 3 simple steps: 

• Fill in the form with some basic information about you
• Sign the contract electronically
• Confirm your identity by uploading a copy of your passport or ID or via video call

Please note that the initial deposit must originate from an account in your name at a fully regulated bank.

Please contact the Customer Care Center by telephone for login problems. For security reasons, telephone authentication is needed.

Your first deposit plays an important role in our identity verification process when opening your account. For this reason, your initial deposit must meet the following requirements:

• The transfer must come from a licensed bank.
• The sending account must be in your name.
• The sending account must be located in of the countries listed here*:

Once we've processed and approved your initial deposit, these specific limitations will no longer apply to future deposits.

End-of-year documents

At the beginning of each fiscal year, Swissquote provides several documents free of charge, including an account statement, an interest statement and a portfolio performance report. These documents are available from mid-January and can be consulted throughout the year.

Usually, these documents should suffice to complete a tax return. However, you may need to retrieve the dividend confirmations separately.

Account statements on request

You can generate custom account statements for any given date from My account (profile icon) > Documents > Request statement. Simply enter the desired date (or date range) and send your request.

When choosing a date range, you can also show the TWR and MWR analysis of your portfolio.

The account statement is generated as a PDF, available typically within 15 minutes.

Tax statements

If you would like a tax statement to help you complete your tax return, you can order one easily from your account. For Swiss residents, the tax statement costs 85 Swiss francs for a digital version or 100 Swiss francs for a printed version. Swiss residents will receive an eTax Statement that simplifies tax filing by automatically pre-filling all required information when uploaded directly to tax software. Digital statement orders receive only the eTax version, while printed statement orders receive both formats.

How to order your tax statement

1. Log in to your Swissquote account from a computer (this function is not available on the mobile application) and enter your login details.
2. In the main menu, click on the ‘Documents’ tab.
3. Select ‘Statement request’ and then choose the ‘Tax return’ category.
4. Fill in the necessary information: select the account concerned, the currency, the desired tax year and the delivery method. Make sure you choose the right details, especially the tax year.
5. Once you have double-checked all the information, click ‘Confirm’ to validate your request.
6. Once your request has been processed, your tax statement will be available in the ‘Documents’ section of your account or sent to your postal address if you have chosen a physical version of the document.

Tax statement delivery times

You will be able to order your tax statement from 1 January. All orders placed before 15 February will be delivered by 28 February. After 15 February, orders will be processed within 10 working days. 

For foreign clients, the time frame is 15 working days. 

Transfers to the account 

In order to transfer securities to a Swissquote account, you need to send an instruction letter (Transfer order form) to your bank, requesting a transfer to your IBAN account. 

Securities transfers to the Swissquote account are free of charge. 

Please note that we do not provide custodians information to clients.

• Securities transfers to another financial institution are charged at EUR/USD/CHF 50 per line. For example, 10 UBS and 30 MSFT are charged CHF 50 and USD 50.
• Securities transfers to another Swissquote account are free. Written instruction as indicated above is still required.

Updating the Unit Cost

In order for us to update the unit cost, please send us a copy of a bank statement indicating the initial purchase price (or purchase confirmation).
