We are glad to say you can request an account via our website, giving information online to register for the service you want. We check the registration and then send you the account opening documents.

If you then would like to open the account, you can send us the signed documents including a notarized copy of your passport and proof of address by post to the following address:

Alongside the postal option, you can also complete the account opening directly online. This means you can sign the contract online with confirmation. You can confirm your identity via video conferencing or by uploading a copy of your passport. If you choose to upload a copy of your ID, you must use a Swiss bank account for the first transaction of your new Swissquote account.

After giving your personal data to register for a new account on the website, you will receive guidelines about digital account opening and the required documents.

Please contact the Customer Care Center by telephone for login problems. For security reasons, telephone authentication is needed.

The end-of-year documents are generated in January each year and are available to you free of charge. You can find them in the 'Documents' section in your account (in the top-right menu, 'My account (profile icon)') under the description 'Portfolio performance'. Please use the filter on the top left to display documents between your preferred date range.

Usually, these documents should be sufficient to complete a tax return, however, you may need to retrieve the dividend confirmations separately.

You can also order a tax statement in the 'Documents' section by selecting 'Request statement' (top-right), then 'Tax Statement' (in the next tab). The tax statement is charged CHF 100 per account, per year. It is generated within 10 working days.

Tax statements for Robo-Advisory accounts are generated automatically as soon as we have received all relevant information from the exchanges.

Unfortunately we do not provide the electronic tax statements at this time.

Account statements on request:
You can generate custom account statements for any given date (top right “Request statement”). Simply enter the desired date (or date range) and send your request.
When choosing a date range, you can also show the TWR and MWR analysis of your portfolio.

The account statement is generated as a PDF, available typically within 15 minutes.

Transfers to the account 

In order to transfer securities to a Swissquote account, you need to send an instruction letter (Transfer order form) to your bank, requesting a transfer to your IBAN account.

Securities transfers to the Swissquote account are free of charge.

Please note that we do not provide custodians information to clients.

• Securities transfers to another financial institution are charged at EUR/USD/CHF 50 per line. For example, 10 UBS and 30 MSFT are charged CHF 50 and USD 50.
• Securities transfers to another Swissquote account are free. Written instruction as indicated above is still required.

Updating the Unit Cost

In order for us to update the unit cost, please send us a copy of a bank statement indicating the initial purchase price (or purchase confirmation).
